App update checker
See when any App Store or Google Play app was last updated, its current version and release notes, and whether its maker is still shipping. Free.
How it works
- Reads the app's current version, its release date and its “What's new” text from the store.
- Up to 45 days since the last release reads as actively maintained, up to 9 months as slowing down, and beyond that as neglected.
- A top ten full of neglected apps is an opening: their users are waiting for someone to ship.
Questions
- Why do some Google Play apps show no version?
- Apps that ship different builds per device show “Varies with device” instead of a version number. The update date still counts.
- Can I track a competitor over time?
- SideRadar Pro reads the apps you choose every day and tells you when they ship, change price or slip in ratings.
